International Conference on Computing Technologies, Tools and Applications

The 1^st International Conference on Computing Technologies, Tools and Applications (ICTAPP-23) conference was hosted by Institute of Computer Sciences and Information Technology (ICS/IT), The University of Agriculture Peshawar, Pakistan. It was held on 9th, 10th and 11th May, 2023 in Peshawar (the city of flowers). Looking at the existing cyber threats and attack landscape, it is mandatory for critical infrastructures and industries to become cyber resilient. The most valuable thing that malicious actors are after is “data” stealing, exploiting or tampering, getting access to it in any form encrypted or unencrypted. Prof. Kashif Naseer Qureshi (University of Limerick) explored the Cyber-Threat Intelligence and User Privacy Concerns various forms of social engineering, including phishing, pretexting, and baiting, and discussed the tactics that attackers use to exploit human weaknesses. By the end of this talk, attendees have better understanding of the social engineering threat landscape and practical steps to protect themselves and their organizations from these insidious attacks.
