Professor Elfed Lewis Appointed Vice President of the International Society of Sensing Technology (ISST)

Professor Elfed Lewis was appointed Vice President of the International Society of Sensing Technology (ISST), and UL together with London City University (UK) are established as the founding European members. ISST is formed as a subsidiary arm of the Chinese Instrumentation and Control Society (CIS) (Beijing) and ISST will be headquartered in Chengdu (China). It will work closely with the Institute of Measurement and Control (InstMC) (UK) establishing a major biennial conference in the area with the first in the series already being held at UL during August 2024 (pictured above).  Prof Lewis’ appointment commenced in January 2025 and is initially for three years. The role of ISST includes participation in international staff and student technical exchange, member participation in exhibition, education and training, and promotion of academic and industrial collaboration in the field of intelligent sensing technology.
