Fatima-Zahra Jaouimaa is a Post-Doctoral Researcher in Time-to-Event/Reliability Modelling, based in MACSI and funded by the Science Foundation Ireland Research Centre in smart manufacturing, Confirm. This position will focus on developing novel reliability models that are more flexible than current commonly used approaches for the analysis of data arising from manufacturing systems. These models will provide insights into the variations in lifetimes/process durations, underlying failure mechanisms, and experimental settings that improve estimation performance.

Born in Morocco, Fatima moved to Ireland at the age of 12. She holds a BSc in Economics and Mathematical Sciences and a PhD in Survival Analysis (thesis titled “Penalized Hierarchical Multi-Parameter Regression Survival Models”) from the University of Limerick. Her research to date is mainly focused on developing flexible methods for the analysis of survival/time-to-event data and the assessment of these methods and algorithms through simulation studies and applications to data arising from clinical studies.

Research Interests: Survival Analysis/ Reliability Studies, Random Effects Modelling, Variable/ Feature Selection, Parametric Modelling, Medical Statistics, Machine Learning.
