For many drivers in the service industry, lifting heaving items into the storage area of cars or vans can be challenging and lead to back and shoulder pain.  BIRL is an assistive bag handling device for service drivers. The motorised roller is designed to make loading excessively heavy luggage into the boot of a vehicle a much more manageable task. BIRL is a specially engineered drum motor, designed with the driver in mind. Considerations are made for protection of the car and practical usability while still solving the problem.  It combines quality engineering with all the considerations of user centred design.
