This weekend, 29th-31st October is OpenHouse Limerick 2021. Well-designed buildings and public spaces are vital in creating and sustaining a vibrant and equitable city. Through experiencing architecture, OpenHouse Limerick enables the wider community to: become more knowledgeable; engage in dialogue; make informed judgements about; and envision, our future built-environment.
SAUL Senior Lecturer Peter Carroll was commissioned to make two films for the upcoming Open House Limerick Festival 2021, one on the vast fundamental infrastructure of cellars and culverts beneath Georgian Limerick entitled ‘Cellars of the City - Time and Terrain’
And another on celebrated architect Andy Devane’s formative first commission on his return from Taliesen West entitled ‘A Conversation with the City - Andy Devane and St. Marys Girls Primary School, King’s Island, Limerick City 1951’.
