Students from University of Limerick were awarded travel bursaries to attend the national Student Volunteer Ireland Conference to explore the Sustainable Development Goals in their volunteering and campus initiatives and were joined with ATU, UCC, UCD, UG, and TUD students. Over 65 students attended interactive workshops to build their skills on volunteer management, enhance their understanding of the SDGs and connect with a national movement to support student leadership. The students heard from expert speakers including the European Youth Forum on how to influence policy and decision-making. Funding for the conference was awarded from the Irish Youth Foundation and the Conference venue hosts Barretstown provided a space for students to connect on the SDG 12 - Responsible Consumption and Production and SDG 3 - Good Health and Wellbeing. Students have returned to their campus all fired up to continue leading on volunteering initiatives for their universities and will earn a Digital Badge in recognition of their engagement.
