On Tuesday, 06 February 2024, University of Limerick launched Cohort Two of the Global Leadership for Sustainable Development (GLSD) programme. With ten students representing ten home institutions across Asia, Europe, and North America, Cohort Two embarks on a transformative journey to explore the complexities of sustainable development and drive positive change in their communities.
Comprising ten students from diverse cultural backgrounds and academic disciplines, Cohort Two brings a wealth of perspectives and experiences to the table. From environmental enthusiasts to social advocates, each participant shares a common goal of advancing sustainability principles in their communities.
Over the course of seven weeks, Cohort Two of GLSD will engage in a dynamic learning journey designed to deepen their understanding of sustainable development. Through lectures, discussions, and site visits led by expert guest speakers, students explore will systemic approaches and challenges to sustainability across the economy, environment, and society. They will also work in interdisciplinary teams to co-create student-led sustainability projects aimed at driving tangible impact on campus.
As Cohort Two of GLSD embarks on their sustainability journey, they carry with them the determination to become change agents in a rapidly evolving world. Through their collective efforts and commitment to sustainability, they seek to inspire others, driving positive change and creating a more equitable and environmentally conscious future.
