Rewarding students who demonstrate entrepreneurial potential

The UL Foundation Entrepreneurship & Innovation Awards is a University wide competition that seeks to reward students who demonstrate entrepreneurial ambition and potential.

  • Do you have an idea for an innovative business or social enterprise?
  • Have you, in your studies at UL, ever identified a creative solution to a problem?
  • There are €12,000 in prizes to be won. Register today and begin your entrepreneurial journey.

You do not need an idea at this stage to enter the competition. Once entrants have registered, they can take their time to develop the idea they wish to compete with.

PRIZES

The competition is split into two categories:

Category 1: Best Business Idea

New products or services that solve problems and create unique value

  • 1st Prize -    €3,000
  • 2nd Prize -   €2,000
  • 3rd Prize -    €1,000

Category 2: Best Social Innovation

New products or services that specifically tackle social or environmental issues

Generously supported by Ralph & Maureen Parkes

  • 1st Prize     €3,000
  • 2nd Prize    €2,000
  • 3rd Prize     €1,000

The top ten ideas in each category will be picked by the awards team.
These students will be invited to Pitching Day to deliver a 3-minute pitch on their idea to a panel of judges.

Some things you need to know

  • The competition is open to all students (including part-time) who are currently registered at University of Limerick
  • Students can enter as individuals or as part of a team
  • Teams must not exceed five members
  • If a student is a part of a team, they are not permitted to enter as an individual registration as well
  • Only one idea per team or individual is permitted
  • Ideas must be original and entirely the work of the team or individual
