* Update regarding the Turnitin AI add-in (7th March, 2024)
The Academic Integrity Unit communicated that the decision was made to not sign-up to the Turnitin Artificial Intelligence add-in from March 2024. This is in keeping with NAIN guidance on the limitations of Generative AI detection systems. For more information, see https://ul.workvivo.com/comments/update/2181746
FAQ's
As per this guidance from Brightspace, the 'End Date' should map to the class end date in Turnitin.
Turnitin assignments that are created in the D2L V2 integration do not give instructors an option to select a Feedback Release Date or a Post Date. When an assignment is created, the Feedback Release Date is automatically set to 6 months after the due date of the assignment. This date will not change until the instructor uses the Publish Feedback option in D2L. Once feedback has been published in D2L, the Feedback Release Date on Turnitin will change to the same date and students will then be able to view their grades and feedback.
For guidance on publishing feedback in D2L, please see D2L's guide here.
It is possible to access www.turnitin.com and manually change the feedback release date, but it should be noted that this is not a supported workflow.
We would therefore advise that assignments not be set up more than 6 months in advance of the intended post date - that way, you can ensure full control over when you release feedback, by publishing it via Brightspace before the passing of the Feedback Release date, set automatically on the Turnitin side.
