Frequently Asked Questions 


 

Vevox is a student engagement and response platform designed to help boost engagement in sessions or lectures. It works through three main pillars: live polling, anonymous Q&A, and asynchronous surveys.

To access Vevox from Brightspace:

Yes, within the Q&A, you have the option to turn it off, pause it, or moderate it. You can also manage announcements and reply to questions as a host.

You have two main options Available.

Option 1:

  • Anonymous: Participants remain unidentified, even in reports. 
    Choose this option if you want the activity to remain completely anonymous.

Option 2:

  • Identified : Names will be hidden for other participants but the participants identity will be visible in the data reports and will pass back correct answer grading information to the VLE/LMS the data report. You must setup the Vevox session through your Brightspace module for this method to work correctly
  • This method is ideal if you have concerns about the type of content submitted (for example, in a word cloud), as it allows you to track and address any offensive entries

Yes, as a host, you can use the 'host reply' functionality to answer questions directly. This is helpful when managing multiple questions during a session.

Yes, sessions can be left open continuously for students to join and ask questions at any time. The lecturer can check in periodically to answer them.

Yes, you can manage announcements in the Q&A tab to set the tone for what you want participants to ask or comment on.

Yes, there are multiple ways to share sessions, including sharing the session directly, duplicating the session, or exporting and importing questions as a JSON file.

No, you must manually sort the data after export. The exported report contains data in sequential order, and any sorting must be done manually.

Yes, the maximum capacity is 5,000 students per session.

No, the analytics page is available only to ITD admins.
