Today, Monday 8 March 2021, Professor Finbarr Murphy takes over as Interim Executive Dean, Kemmy Business School.
Previously Head of Department, Accounting and Finance and Accounting and an Associate Professor in Quantitative Finance and Emerging Risk, computer engineering graduate, Finbarr has worked for over 10 years in investment banking before returning to academia and completing his PhD.
A Fulbright Scholar and LERO member, his research area includes quantitative finance and more recently, emerging technological risk. Finbarr has authored or co-authored over 70 papers, edited books and book chapters in leading cross-disciplinary research journals. He is currently engaged in several EU Horizon 2020 and Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) projects. He is co-lead of the Emerging Risk Group in the KBS which has recently collaborated and submitted six H2020 Green Deal proposals.
