What to expect
In this webinar we will present an overview of the part-time online Professional Diploma in Contemporary Taxation. We will discuss minimum entry requirements, content covered, funding opportunities and will give an opportunity for Q&A so that any additional questions can be answered. You will have an opportunity to meet the lecturers Tom Collins, Martin Cunneen, Kieran Gallery and Patrick Buckley and current students Suzann McDonnell and Mark Frisby.

Professional Diploma in Contemporary Taxation Unique Selling Points
Upskilling/ refreshing in key areas of International Tax. The areas covered are relevant to a broad range of corporate taxpayers.
Advanced skillsets will enable students understand and negotiate a growing level of complex tax legislation and tax disputes
Gain the practical skills necessary to apply data analytics and to understand artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and how to use these critical technologies in the taxation, risk, ethics, and governance disciplines
Flexibility in terms of studying asynchronous material. Students must commit to attend a maximum of 1.5 hours synchronous material per week (which will also be recorded and made available to students unable to attend live classes) – synchronous classes will be held outside of office hours – typically Thursday evenings from 6 to 7:30.
The breadth of learning outcomes is very different from professional qualifications, particularly regarding Data Analytics and AI.
All four modules are assessed by means of continuous assessment which offers the opportunity to students to apply a broad range of learnings in a practical manner. The modules will be delivered in sequential order in the autumn (2 modules), spring (1 module), and summer (1 module) semesters.
Students have the flexibility of undertaking the full programme in a year or by means of a stackable Micro credential model
Human Capital Initiative (HCI) Funding
HCI funding available of up to 50% for eligible students - notably, if your employer is sponsoring your course, this will not preclude the availability of funding.
Please note that subsidised offers are issued by the Graduate & Professional Studies on a first come, first served basis (fcfs) and is limited to 25 places.
Master of Professional Practice
Students can partake in our new innovative and one-of-a-kind Master of Professional Practice, which combines three Professional Diplomas (including this PD) stacked over 5 years – see here. A graduate from University of Limerick or elsewhere with two existing Professional Diplomas (or awards equivalent to 60 ECTS Credits at Level 9) can use these to achieve a Master of Professional Practice.
