TAAP

TAAP integrates tactile and audio cues to empower independent travel for the visually impaired. With a tactile map and haptic feedback, users feel the route while audio prompts provide real time information. TAAP aims to seamlessly combine independent navigation with an accessible public transport experience. My research focused on exploring the overall accessible journey. This led me to create a solution tailored to visual impairment due to the challenges faced when accessing public transport and navigating routes. The TAAP wearable uses electromagnetic technology to form a tactile map, while haptics guide the user through their journey with precision. Its modular design offers seamless transitions between wearable and handheld use. TAAP’s audio companion allows users to navigate urban environments and public transit networks successfully.
