Thayse Natacha Gomes is a post-doctoral researcher at the Department of Physical Education and Sport Sciences, University of Limerick, where she is working on the GoGreenRoutes projects, an EU-funded project aiming to understand the association between NBS and health. Further, she is an Adjunct Professor at the Federal University of Sergipe, and one of the coordinators of the research centre of Health, Physical Activity and Sport (SAFE).

Her research interests are related to correlates and determinants of physical activity and sedentary behaviour, human growth and development, health, and sports promotion and performance. She coordinates the “Growth, physical activity, sedentary behaviour, and health indicators in children” project, and also co-coordinates the “InTrack” project. She has been engaged in research projects in different countries (Brazil, Portugal, Mozambique, Peru, Cape Verde), which, in summary, are focused on understanding the inter- and intra-individual differences in human growth and development, physical activity levels and sedentary behaviour, sports performance, obesity and its comorbidities, through multilevel approach/ecological models.
