Please join us on December 3rd @ 13h00 when President Kerstin Mey will be launching the Anytime of the Month Initiative on campus. The impact of Anytime of the Month (ATOTM) has been far-reaching, working to achieve period justice in all aspects of Irish society. The event will be hosted by Catriona O’Halloran and Ciara Flynn. Catriona O'Halloran is a recent graduate of UL in International Business and she is now studying a MSc in Global Challenges for Sustainability. Ciara is a 3rd year student of European Studies at the University of Limerick. Ciara has been at the forefront of the project's mission to provide menstrual education to all second-level students. She is the Team Lead for Anytime of the Month and in October she represented both UL and Ireland at the Enactus World Cup. Ciara O Flynn is co-team lead at Anytime of the Month.
The UL Students will discuss how they started Anytime of the Month. Their research illustrated in June 2020 that 1 in 3 Third Level students experience period poverty, 1 in 2 Second level students experience period poverty and 64% of those surveyed have had to ask a stranger for a period product.
We are delighted to announce as part of the ATOTM Initiative the University will be providing free period products on campus.
