On Friday, September 10th we are running a lunchtime event from 1 pm-2 pm to mark World Suicide Prevention Day. We will be joined by members from Limerick Suicide Watch. Limerick Suicide Watch will discuss the work they do for the community such as keeping eyes on the river and identify and provide support to those in distress and who may be contemplating suicide.
As part of their Suicide awareness programmes and Community outreach programmes they visit schools, colleges, places of work and local communities to provide support, promote positive mental health. The volunteers will be talking about how the pandemic has impacted the community and how they dedicate their time to helping others who are feeling isolated. The work they do is very important, and we are grateful to have them do an event with our students and staff.
