Irish World Academy and UL Language Centre Summer School

From August 12th to August 23rd students from Southwest University in Beibei, Chongqing, China will attend a language and music summer school co-hosted between UL Global, ULLC and the Irish World Academy. Our visitors have the opportunity to engage with music from the Western classical and popular tradition, both instrumental and vocal styles, classical traditions from India and Indonesia and West African drumming as well as attending English language classes in our Language Centre.

The IWAMD have some special guest tutors facilitating Irish traditional music classes on the bodhran (frame drum) and tin whistle. Dance students from Hainan University are also visiting UL before starting their exchange studies in the IWAMD BA Contemporary Dance programme in September.
