The greatest threat to physical activity research – its in plain sight and nobody notices it

Biography: Emeritus Professor Adrian Bauman has over 30 years experience in chronic disease prevention, physical activity and the methods for public health programs. He currently still directs the WHO Collaborating Centre on Physical activity, Nutrition and Obesity. He directed the Sydney University Prevention Research Collaboration 2004-2020, a 20-person primary prevention research group, with a focus that included physical activity research in many diverse settings. He has current interests in public health program evaluation and in the methods for evaluating the implementation of programs at scale, and in physical activity surveillance and monitoring. In retirement, he spends much time wondering why population physical activity levels are not improving. He walks his dog 3-4 times most days, and sometimes rides a bicycle for recreation.
