The KBS is fully committed to establishing and maintaining an ethos of dignity and respect for all within a day-to-day culture that promotes equal opportunity across all activities. Having received the Athena Swan Bronze Award in 2019, the KBS is honoured to be the first business school in Ireland to have been awarded the prestigious Athena Swan Silver Award in 2023, marking the schools' ongoing efforts to achieve equality, diversity and inclusion.
The school is committed to delivering on a range of clear, measurable actions that result in impactful outcomes. Key successes that contributed to the school achieving the Silver AS award included the increased representation of female staff at the most senior academic grades, meeting the HEA target for female professors. Additionally, the school increased outreach activities to support increased representation of female students in programmes where participation had been low, along with the provision of targeted career development supports, particularly benefiting early and mid-career academics.
