I am an aspiring designer originally from Waterford, with a background in Biomedical Engineering. My design journey began during my undergraduate degree where I developed a love for the design side of engineering. I proceeded to advance this by completing my master in Design for Health and Wellbeing to further my knowledge in the area. My approach to design is driven by a philosophy that prioritizes simplicity, usability, and the positive impact design can have on people's daily lives. I believe that effective design not only solves problems but also tells a story, creating meaningful connections between products and their users. I am committed to continuous learning and exploration in the design field, always seeking to push the boundaries of creativity and innovation.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Medical Device Known as “ChillFit” is a prosthetic liner with microfluidic channels and connective cooling box, designed to provide a cooling sensation to a prosthetic user's residuum.  The Device is aimed to improve comfort, provide a cooling sensation and reduce sweat build-up within a prosthetic liner.  The microfluidic channels contains distilled water which is circulated throughout the tubing through the micropump inside the cooling box. This process provides a cooling effect to the user’s residuum and help to reduce the temperature of their residuum.  ChillFit is designed to be used in any setting necessary with a focus on providing relief during activity and sports.
