Springboard+ and HCI Programmes

Springboard+ is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Social Fund as part of the ESF programme for employability, inclusion and learning 2014-2020. The majority of courses are part-time for a maximum of 12 months and are open to all eligible applicants regardless of their employment status. The Springboard+ upskilling initiative in higher education offers free and subsidised courses at certificate, degree and masters level, leading to qualifications in areas where there are employment opportunities in the economy.

Springboard+ programmes are open to all employed, unemployed and returner applicants.

Level 6 programmes are 100% funded by the Government to successful applicants.

Level 7, 8 and 9 programmes are 90% funded for those in employment, and 100% funded for those on a qualifying social welfare payment or those returning to the workforce after a period of being out of work.

How to apply for a funded place

There are a limited number of places allocated to Springboard+ funding. Applications are reviewed on a first come, first served basis. An application for a Springboard+ funded place does not guarantee a place on the course.

We recommend registering for your course immediately on https://springboardcourses.ie. In 2-3 days your will receive a link to apply directly on the University of Limerick website. Please note wait times may be longer due to high demand for places.
