Geraldine is Associate Vice President, Graduate and Professional Studies at University of Limerick and Chair of the MicroCreds Steering Committee. Her role as Chair brings together her interests in industry-led education as a business solution, and building the supportive institutional frameworks that enable sound yet agile accreditation systems.
She has held strategic and operational leadership roles in both education and commercial environments, including Pearson, indiepics, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, the University of Melbourne, Trinity College Dublin and FRS Training.
During her time in the EdTech sector, Geraldine was responsible for a large technology portfolio of education products for the Irish, EU, US and Australian markets.
Geraldine leads ULs Graduate and Professional Studies team, prospecting and maximising innovative funding initiatives. Collaboration with enterprise partners & academic leads in the conceptualisation and design of flexible curricula for work-based learners is a key to her role.
She is key contributor to the regional and national skills architecture and represents UL on various Steering Committees that shape future talent. She is Chair of the Mid West Renewables Education and Training Cluster a member of the governments Expert Advisory Group on Offshore Wind Skills and Workforce.
Geraldine also led funded STEM programmes at Trinity College Dublin including a collaborative nanotechnology partnership between 10 universities and 4 industry partners, and at the University of Melbourne, a collaborative STEM initiative involving Deakin, Monash and La Trobe Universities, to innovate the teaching of STEM across partner institutions.
