Who is the Fees Subsidy for?

The HCI Micro-Credential Course Learner Subsidy offers the student either 50% or 80% funding to embark on short learning experiences at UL. Selected micro-credentials that range between 2 – 12 weeks and selected 1-year professional diplomas have received funding for a limited number of places.

The Fee Subsidy is open to all employed, unemployed and returner applicants in the Republic of Ireland. Full details on eligibility for the scheme can be found here: Eligibility Criteria

 How much are the fees?

The course you choose may offer either 50% or 80% funding on a limited number of places. The fee will be automatically subsidised should you qualify for and receive a subsidised offer, and our admissions team will work with you to pay the remaining balance in line with existing payment terms and conditions.

 How do I apply?

To apply, simply find the micro-credential or professional diploma you are interested in. Whether the course is 50% or 80% funded will be indicated under the “Fees” section of the course page.

  •  Check the Subsidy Eligibility Criteria to ensure you meet the criteria.
  • If you are eligible to receive the subsidy, click “Apply” and follow the online application form.

  • The UL admissions staff process applications on a rolling basis and will be in contact with you regarding next steps. This will include how to upload documents to evidence your eligibility for a subsidised place.

  • Please note that applicants may only apply for and receive, one subsidised course per semester.

Am I guaranteed a place on the course?

There are a limited number of places allocated to each course.

Applications are reviewed and offers issued to eligible applicants on a first come, first served basis. An application for a funded place does not guarantee a place on the course. Applications for funded places will close as soon as they have been filled. However, many courses have capacity to take additional students, on a full fee-paying basis.

Please Note:   Applicants may only apply for and receive, one subsidised course per semester.
