HRI Members Dr Clodagh Toomey and Dr Helen O’Leary have launched a new website called JointPain.ie. This free online resource provides reliable information for people suffering from knee and hip joint pain, especially conditions like osteoarthritis. The website includes:

  • Expert-Backed Advice: The website offers reliable, expert-backed information on joint pain management, ensuring users receive trustworthy guidance aimed at both patients and healthcare professionals..
  • Comprehensive Resources: It provides a wide range of resources, including expert videos and exercises to help manage pain, and self-management tools to understand symptoms and treatments, tailored to both patients and clinicians.
  • Accessibility Features: The site is designed to be accessible to everyone, with options to adjust font size, colors, and use screen readers for better usability.
  • Collaborative Design: JointPain.ie was co-designed by researchers, clinicians, and people with joint conditions, ensuring it meets the real needs of users.
  • Support from Reputable Organizations: The project is supported by Arthritis Ireland and the HSE, adding credibility and ensuring high-quality content.

The project leads noticed a lack of trustworthy resources for joint pain in Ireland. They collaborated with Arthritis Ireland and the HSE to create this site, ensuring it meets the needs of those with joint pain.

The launch of JointPain.ie marks a significant step forward in providing accessible, expert-backed resources for those suffering from joint pain in Ireland. With the support of Arthritis Ireland and the HSE, this new website is set to become an invaluable tool for both patients and healthcare professionals, helping to improve the quality of life for many.
