Professor Maurice Collins, a distinguished member of the Health Research Institute (HRI) at the University of Limerick, has been featured in a list of 25 leading Irish scientists published by Silicon Republic. This recognition highlights his significant contributions to the field of materials science and his innovative research in sustainable materials for various applications.

Professor Daniel Granato from University of Limerick has secured €727,520 to investigate the potential health benefits of apple pomace, the residue left after apples are juiced or sliced. His project, aptly named APPLE-BIO, aims to harness the bioactive compounds found in apple pomace to combat obesity-related inflammation and oxidative stress.
