Mathematical and Statistical Modelling During the COVID-19 Pandemic
Professor James Gleeson led the collaborative effort to generate the models that guided the majority of NPHET recommendations to government on mobility restrictions, lockdowns, and easing restrictions during the Coivid-19 pandemic. The work was supported by a team in University of Limerick’s Mathematics Applications Consortium for Science and Industry (MACSI) and other Irish institutions.
PhD in Data Science
The Centre for Research Training in Foundations of Data Science, funded by Science Foundation Ireland and Skillnet Ireland and supported and facilitated by Technology Ireland ICT Skillnet, is a large-scale collaborative initiative between the University of Limerick, University College Dublin, and Maynooth University. The Centre combines the expertise of world-class academics, international collaborators and industry partners, to create a centre of excellence in PhD training.
