Brief Description

This MSc is designed to enhance both knowledge and skills, blending them to prepare students from Arts Humanities, Social Science and other disciplines for dynamic careers. It focuses on key areas such as communication, data analytics, design thinking, and emerging technologies such as AI. The programme aims to future-proof students' skills in a rapidly changing workforce.

Students benefit from real-world experience through internships, gaining a competitive edge post-graduation. 

The programme is flexible, offered both full-time and part-time, and includes online and blended learning options to accommodate diverse student needs. Learning takes place through real world practical experiences. Developed in collaboration with industry partners, it ensures graduates are equipped with critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills highly valued in various sectors.

On successful completion of this degree graduates will be able to:

  • Apply critical thinking, design thinking and industry standard problem-solving tools to meet the needs of a variety of employers
  • Benefit from an extended internship in one industry employer or Design and manage a creative problem-solving process
  • Manage the complex analysis and application of data for planning and development
  • Effectively use data to tell the stories that help industries communicate, internally and externally.
  • Integrate knowledge of emerging technologies and changing industry practices, including AI, into the operations and governance of industry employers.

There will be a small number of blended elements on campus which will be well signalled to students in advance.

Internship opportunities will be offered following a competitive process involving industry partners and may not be offered in all cases.

The general entry requirement for entry onto a UL taught masters programme applies. Applicants must have a first or second class Level 8 honours degree (NFQ or other internationally recognised equivalent) in a relevant or appropriate subject, or equivalent prior learning that is recognised by the University as meeting this requirement. Applicants must also satisfy the English Language Requirements of the University. Applicants with prior experience in industry may be able to apply for an exemption from the internship component.

WHAT TO INCLUDE WITH YOUR APPLICATION:

  • Qualification transcripts and/or certificates (including certified English translations if applicable)
  • A copy of your birth certificate or passport
  • If your qualifications have been obtained in a country where English is an official language this will suffice
  • If this is not available, the following additional documents must be provided:
  • English translation of your qualification(s)/transcripts AND

Graduates from this unique programme will be able to work in a variety of roles in and with industry, including strategy development and risk analysis; internal and external stakeholder engagement; product development and testing; managing corporate social responsibility; project management and others.
