This micro-credential represents a single module within a larger further award (eg. Certificate, Diploma, Masters). This module will provide a range of activities and resources that will help participants to develop an understanding of translational research; the actions in translating research into practice; implementation and dissemination.
The module is divided into sections:
- Introduction to the concept of translational research;
- Comparative effectiveness research;
- Clinical Guideline development;
- implementation Science;
- Implementation Strategies Frameworks and Models;
- Community and Public Patient
- Engagement in research and co-design;
- Mixed methods research;
- Participatory Action Research;
- Project management;
- Dissemination and Knowledge translation.
Learning Outcomes:
On completion of the programme the student will be able to:

Critically reflect on an aspect of practice and formulate research questions or hypotheses from a defined healthcare problem related to translational research questions, types of translational research

Evaluate and relate the techniques available to translate/implement research‐based evidence into practice Guideline development and Implementation science).

Select and employ in a research protocol the chosen technique to translate/implement research‐based evidence into practice (Implementation strategies and action research methods

Prepare for submission to a clinical research ethics related to Participatory Research, Community involvement PPI and project management

Defend the chosen strategy to build knowledge translation into study design and conduct (Dissemination and Knowledge translation)

A Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife on the current register of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.

Applicants whose first language is not English must provide evidence of either prior successful completion of a degree qualification taught through the medium of English or meet criteria identified in the English Language qualifications set by the University of Limerick.
