This innovative fully online Master programme is designed to enable teachers, with experience of working in EU and Non EU settings, to obtain a professional qualification that will enhance their career opportunities. The programme builds on the student’s experience of international educational systems and enhances their professional and leadership skills, whilst providing a supportive learning environment. The programme will also yield a global supportive network upon which participants can draw in order to excel as future educational leaders. 

The Masters of Education in Educational Leadership presents a unique opportunity for education providers and organisations to develop leadership and change capacity in an era of significant challenge and change.

The two-year fully online programme is designed for teachers at all levels. The programme is designed using flexible learning approaches and distance learning technology. All modules are designed to develop candidates professional autonomy and to build their learning as engaged, critical and reflective practitioners. The course will draw on both Irish, EU and international exemplars, case studies and Irish/international policy and will focus on global issues pertinent to leading educational provision and professional practice. The course will challenge teachers to develop their professional agency and expertise.

An honours primary degree (2.2) in a relevant or appropriate subject and a teaching qualification recognised by the University of Limerick or suitable equivalent. A minimum of two years relevant educational experience is required (primary, post-primary, further, higher education or other). The English language requirements of the University of Limerick must also be met. The University reserves the right to shortlist & interview applicants.
