Opportunities and challenges within new EU and global regulatory frameworks

Who should attend: Designers, lawyers, company managers and executives, production managers, Human Resources personnel

Please join our eminent speakers,  Professor Raymond Friel and Lauri Tuovinen, D.Sc., Postdoctoral Researcher for two keynote presentations :

1. Data governance and privacy implications of AI in the manufacturing industry.

This presentation will revolve around two hypothetical cases. First, the release of a physical product incorporating AI, and second, using AI to monitor workers on the factory floor.

2. The role of data in AI Development and Regulatory Challenges in the EU

The second presentation will look at the role of data (both personal and non-personal) in the development of AI within an evolving EU regulatory environment and the challenges facing the EU in a global context. In particular, it will look at the way the implementation of AI is potentially diverging between the EU’s more cautious approach and more liberal approaches from the  UK/US and other global regimes.
