University of Limerick Graduate and Professional Studies is delighted to welcome a new Master of Science (MSc) in Molecular and Analytical Biosciences to its portfolio.  The master’s degree is designed to equip graduates with the advanced skills and knowledge required to succeed in careers within biotechnology, biopharmaceuticals, advanced healthcare industries and academic research. Molecular and Analytical Bioscience is a rapidly evolving field that plays a vital role in biopharma, biotechnology and biomedical research. The one-year, full-time MSc programme offers in-depth molecular and cell biology training, focusing on understanding of cellular dysfunctions in disease. Students on the programme will develop expertise in advanced cell biology, predictive modelling tools, cancer and precision medicine, advanced analytical techniques, and regulatory affairs, making them highly desirable to employers in biopharmaceuticals, biomedical research, environmental science and clinical diagnostics.

Course director, Dr Andreas Grabrucker is a Professor in Cell Biology at the Faculty of Science and Engineering and researcher at the Bernal Institute at UL. Dr Grabrucker’s work aims to understand how genetic and non-genetic factors contribute to neuronal dysfunction and to develop novel research and treatment strategies using nanotechnology.
