How to turn your PhD into a book

lecture by Dr Hilary Potter, 4 or 5 September (tbc).

Hilary will talk about her forthcoming publication - How to get from the PhD to the Book. She will focus on its rationale and approach, before pivoting to an interactive session in which participants can test out selected activities from the book.

Hilary is based at the Leeds Arts and Humanities Research Institute, at the University of Leeds. Her academic background is in German Studies, with interests in translation, and in disability studies. She has represented Early Career academics in various honorary roles at Women in German Studies and at the University Council for Languages (formerly University Council of Modern Languages).She published her monograph, Remembering Rosenstrasse: History, Memory, Identity in 2018 with Peter Lang. Her forthcoming book, How to get from the PhD to the Book, is also with Peter Lang and will be the subject of her talk. She has worked at the universities of Cardiff, Leeds, Newcastle, Royal Holloway, and York.
