This new interdisciplinary learning resource has been created to support allied health students (in the first instance) who are undertaking clinical placements in Children’s Disability Network Teams (CDNTs).
This digital learning tool arose from a consultative process in the Allied Health Forum which identified the need for specific student support in advance of and during clinical placements.
The development of this tool has been highly collaborative with robust evaluation, clinical staff, UL Faculty and student feedback. It has been funded through support from the National HSCP Office and will be shared nationally with CDNTs as an enabler for student placements and supporting new graduates.
It illustrates the benefit of a collaborative, boundary-spanning approach of an academic health sciences system. Phase two is exploring an online e-learning module to support elements of the resource in more detail, and this is at early stages of development.
