UL MedX is an exercise-led community-based rehabilitation programme augmented by nutrition, medication adherence and wellbeing education for disease prevention and management. Its objectives are to achieve excellence in outreach, in teaching and in research.
Thru funding from Midwest Community Healthcare Organisation, 2 PHD students from University of Limerick have commenced to support its implementation in the Community. A project team is in place and an Oversight Committee and PPI Panel are being formed to support implementation in Q1 2023.
It strives to provide individuals living with non-communicable diseases (NCDs) an opportunity to maintain their optimum level of health through its multidisciplinary research, teaching and exercise-based programme. This programme is led by Prof. Catherine Woods.
