A Simulation Training session was conducted on 22nd January, 2025, at University Hospital Limerick, in the CERC building, Simulation Suite. The event was organized by RCPI Regional Programme Director Dr. Alwin Sebastian and Regional Coordinator Dovile Lee.
The training comprised four hands-on simulation stations: Lumbar Puncture, Ultrasound-Guided IV Cannulation, Chest Drain, and Knee Aspiration/Injection. A total of 18 Non-Consultant Hospital Doctors (NCHDs) participated in the session, which was facilitated by NCHDs Dr. Jamie McGettigan, Dr. Kaitlyn Cinnamond, Dr. Louay Kila, and Dr. Anisha Farouk.
Special acknowledgment is extended to Sarah Carroll, Senior Simulation Technical Officer, for expertly managing the setup on the day.
Feedback from the participating NCHDs was overwhelmingly positive. All attendees found the session highly beneficial, with frequent requests for more regular simulation training sessions in the future.
