Damien Thompson is Professor of Molecular Modelling in the Department of Physics at University of Limerick, course director for the MSc Bioprocessing in the Faculty of Science and Engineering, and Director of SSPC, the Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) National Research Centre for Pharmaceuticals. He leads a research team in computational design of structured materials at the Bernal Institute at University of Limerick. His group partners with world leading experimental and industry research teams in the co-development of a range of nano-enabled products for health and sustainability. Current research interests include mapping of peptide dynamics inside cells and design of metal-organic complexes for brain-inspired computing. He publishes regularly in leading journals including Nature, Nature Materials, and Nature Nanotechnology.
