The majority of the courses listed on this website were developed as a result of close consultation with industry leaders, industry skills councils, licensing bodies and professionals. Industry collaboration ensures that the design and delvery of our courses and our graduate skills, will match the needs of industry.

The Flexible Learning Centre offers a range of taught postgraduate and distance learning programmes that will suit various entry levels.
A student may graduate from a Specialist Diploma in Lean for example and return to UL at a later date, to study a second Specialist Diploma. This person can then combine both Specialist Diplomas with a thesis project to graduate with a Master Black Belt in Lean Sigma Systems.

From 2019 we offer a range of Apprenticeship programmes from Level 7 Diploma to Level 10 PhD. These apprenticeships have been created ‘by industry for industry’ with the aim of building Ireland's capacity to be world industry leaders through enhancing the skills of its existing workforce, and are designed for people who are already working and wish to gain additional knowledge and experience within their role.

Are you seeking a short course to explore a topic?
We also offer short 12 week modules. These short courses will allow staff to do an introductory level certification in management, law, quality engineering etc, without committing to a full university course. Individuals will often find that after completing the short course, they have the confidence to take on a bigger academic challenge. See our range of short courses for industry here.
