Dear Student Volunteers,
The Presidents Volunteer Award (PVA) offers international students an invaluable opportunity to engage with and integrate into their new Limerick environment. By engaging in local projects, our student volunteers not only contribute positively to society but also enhance their cultural understanding and language skills.
Volunteering is valuable in facilitating networking with the local community as well as other volunteers, fostering friendships that can last a lifetime. Many International students find that volunteering in the community can help combat feelings of homesickness by creating a sense of belonging.
The UL Global Buddy programme is an excellent example of impactful volunteering, we are grateful to the hundreds of Global Buddies who, each year, greatly enhance the experience of our international students.
