
There are three categories of membership: Member, Affiliate Member, and Student Member. The requirements, benefits and expectations of each are detailed below.
Members
University of Limerick affiliated academics, researchers and practitioners with a track record in implementation science research or activity and who are committed to the work of the Centre.
Requirements:
At least one academic publication with an implementation research lens or one piece of evidence of practical implementation projects e.g. reports.
An affiliation with the University of Limerick.
Benefits:
Promotion of the members’ implementation science achievements e.g. grants, publications and projects through Centre communication channels.
Access to resources, including training, teaching resources (e.g. slide decks) and datasets.
Notifications of external funding opportunities.
Access to expertise and experience of other established researchers.
Access to a network of implementation researchers and policy makers locally, nationally and internationally.
Opportunities for interdisciplinary collaborations.
Invitations to CIRcUL events e.g., Networking Lunches, Workshops, Seminars, Training, and Research Day, as an attendee or participant.
Use of CIRcUL affiliation.
Expectations:
Conduct excellent implementation research with impact on practice and/or policy and contribute to the CIRcUL research community and reputation.
Act as an ambassador for CIRcUL at all levels and in all fora.
Actively participate in CIRcUL events.
Utilise the CIRcUL affiliation in publications and presentations.
Notify CIRcUL of grants submissions, awards or funding received that relate to implementation science.

Affiliate members
People with an interest in implementation science who would like to hear updates, participate in training, attend events, and collaborate with the Centre on implementation science relevant projects, developments or grant applications. Suited to researchers, PhD students, practitioners, policy makers etc. who don’t meet full membership criteria or are not affiliated with the University of Limerick.
Requirements:
Working in implementation science or a related area where implementation science has an application.

Access to expertise and experience of established researchers.
Access to technical support to supervisors of implementation science projects.
Access to network of researchers and policy makers locally, nationally and internationally.

Act as an ambassador for CIRcUL.
Actively participate in CIRcUL events when appropriate.

Student members
University of Limerick students at undergraduate, postgraduate level with an interest in implementation science.
Requirements:
Registered on an undergraduate or postgraduate course in any discipline in the University of Limerick.
Benefits:
Updates on advances in implementation science.
Access to learning resources e.g. videos, eLearning modules.
Opportunity to attend CIRcUL events.
Support for identifying supervisors for post graduate studies.
Support and advice for specific funding calls.
Eligible to submit for the implementation science student best project award (non-monetary award for the best implementation science Undergraduate or Masters project, submit project plus 1 page summary of implementation science element).
Expectations:
Act as an ambassador for CIRcUL.
Actively participate in CIRcUL events when appropriate.

Programme Monitoring Group
A small group of members of CIRcUL from within the University of Limerick. The Programme Monitoring Group aims to have representation across faculties in University of Limerick. The Programme Monitoring Group membership is by invitation or nomination.
Requirements:
Active involvement and expertise in implementation research and or practice. A member of University of Limerick staff.

Benefits:
Direct input into the strategic direction of CIRcUL.
Direct access to experts in implementation science working across disciplines.
Opportunities for involvement in implementation projects undertaken by CIRcUL.
Expectations:
Attendance at the programme monitoring group meeting, held once a month.
Contribution to the projects undertaken by CIRcUL in either technical support, teaching, research or expert consultation capacities.
Work to secure funding for CIRcUL.
Advisory Group
A small group of experts in implementation research and practice drawn from the national and international community who provide oversight and input on strategic direction of the Centre and support policy engagement and funding opportunities, including philanthropy. The Advisory Group Membership is by invitation only. Membership of the Advisory Group is not dependent on membership of the Centre.
Requirements:
Strong professional expertise in implementation science in leadership roles or positions that facilitate access to decision makers or ways of engaging with same or experience in advising on or accessing funding.

Opportunity to shape the building of implementation science capacity building and research infrastructure in Ireland.

Expectations:
Attend the Advisory Group Meeting, held three times a year.

Act as an ambassador for CIRcUL at all levels and in all fora.
Membership Eligibility and Criteria Review
Each membership application is assessed on an individual basis. As implementation science is a cross-disciplinary area, we are conscious that meeting membership criteria may be difficult in certain disciplines, as such, disciplinary equivalents of criteria will be considered. If you think you are eligible to become a member but don’t meet the exact criteria, please contact the Centre directly at CIRcUL@ul.ie
Membership is reviewed every 3 years.
Membership criteria will be reviewed as necessary and at a minimum of every three years.
