It is essential that the parent/nominated guardian, applying for a place on English for Juniors at the University of Limerick Language Centre read and accept the terms and conditions in full.

1. Junior applicants must be between the age of 11 and 16 years to join the Junior Programme.

2. Junior applicants must abide by the rules and regulations of the University of Limerick Language Centre. The University of Limerick Language Centre reserves the right to cancel the applicant’s involvement in the junior Programme at any stage if these rules and regulations are broken. Any increased cost incurred as a result of this will be borne by the applicant, along with an added administration fee.

3. Junior applicants staying in host family accommodation must agree to accept the house rules and follow the household routine. Juniors will not be allowed out in the evenings unless on a supervised visit and/or accompanied by an adult known to the Language Centre. Juniors seeking permission to go out in the evening will need a signed letter from their parent/guardian giving permission and accepting full responsibility.

4. The definition of a programme/course at the University of Limerick Language Centre is the total length of time for which a junior applicant has enrolled, i.e. the starting and finishing dates submitted to and agreed by the University of Limerick Language Centre.

5. The University of Limerick Language Centre follows the guideline set for the general University of Limerick schedule in terms of class length. An hour means an academic hour, i.e. 50 minutes.

6. The University of Limerick Language Centre is closed on all public holidays in Ireland. For a list of these, please see our website at www.ul.ie/languagecentre

7. Students are expected to be on time for class and to attend class regularly.

8. Pre-departure changes made to a booking once it has been secured or changes made after arrival will incur an extra administration charge of €30. Where a junior wishes to leave his/her accommodation before the end of the period reserved, one week’s notice or payment in lieu must be given.

9. No refunds will be given for late arrivals and/or early departures for any reason or for late cancellation of accommodation or other absences.

10. Cancellation Fees:

a. Notice of a cancellation must be received in writing 22 days before the course start date. The fee minus the deposit will be refunded. No refund will be given after this period.

b. In all cases the deposit is non-refundable.

c. Where a student is unable to attend a course due to refusal of a visa by the Irish authorities, the fee minus the deposit will be refunded in full provided full documentary evidence of the refusal is submitted to the University of Limerick Language Centre.

d. The University of Limerick Language Centre reserves the right to cancel any course and will endeavour to give adequate notice in this regard. Where a course is cancelled by the University of Limerick Language Centre, the fee will be refunded in full.

e. We recommend that insurance against loss of fees through illness or injury, or the serious illness or death of a relative be taken out on behalf of the junior applicant.

11. Where a junior has commenced a course and is repatriated for offences against the University of Limerick and/or Civil Law, all costs will be borne by the junior applicant.

12. Where an airport transfer has been pre-arranged with the University of Limerick Language Centre, there will be an additional charge of €30 per hour should the flight be delayed.
