Commentary on the Advocate General Preliminary Opinion in relation to the retention of data in Ireland

Professor Shane Kilcommins provided a commentary in the Irish Examiner on the opinion issued this week by the Advocate General in relation to the retention of data in Ireland, possible incompatability with EU jurisprudence,  and the possible implications for criminal evidence obtained in circumstances where privacy rights have been breached.
