Once you have created your activity, you need to edit each of the phases:
Create Phase
The phase where students submit their work for peer review. This section is where you will add activity instructions
and choose student submission options.
Assess Phase
This section is where you will set-up how students give feedback back to their peers (e.g., set the number of peers
they give feedback to, build a rubric from a variety of assessment types, allow self-assessment, etc). Click on Add Peer Assessment. There are 8 assessment types to choose from. More details on the peerScholar support site here.
Reflect Phase
The phase where students see the feedback from their peers, and can reflect on that feedback in a number of ways. This section is where you will set-up how students reflect on the feedback they received from their peers (e.g., will they respond to the feedback?, will they be required to revise & resubmit their work based on feedback?).
On the right-hand side of the Activity builder, there is a menu with 3 icons.
The Additional Assessments Icon will allow you to access additional assessments that will be prompted to students as a last response at any phase (create, assess and reflect). Assessments added from this menu will be shown to the students as the last step of any phase. The student responses to these questions will only be seen by instructors and team members (i.e., not the students' peers). You can create custom questions for your unique purposes - or choose some of the common ones from the list provided.
The Eye Icon allows you to preview how students will view each phase.
The Gear Icon shows advanced phase settings. Advanced features are found by opening an activity,
choose Edit - look for the blue cog on the right hand side of the screen. To learn more, see the page Advanced Settings.
