Microsoft Office
All staff and students have access to the Microsoft 365 suite of applications. As part of the 365 tools, you will find plugins and tips to assist a range of needs.
Examples of these include:
- Use the 'reading view' to remove distracting content.
- Turn on 'text suggestions' to help construct sentences.
- Use the Immersive Reader tool with tools like Text-To-Speech (TTS) and Line Focus
- Rearrange buttons on your taskbar to best suit your needs including Quick Access Toolbar.
- Choose fonts that reduce visual crowding and make reading easier
- Display auto-generated subtitles with add-ons in PowerPoint.
- Lectures recorded in MS Teams will also have automatically created captions if stored in MS Stream which can be edited.
More information about the accessibility features of Microsoft Office can be found on Microsoft's own accessibility site.
The immersive Reader feature is also available across applications like Microsoft Edge and Word 365 Online.
There is also UL Accessibility Channel on Microsoft Stream.
