Femke’s mission is to narrow the gap between science, practice and policy.
Her main research topics are: linking implementation strategies to facilitators and barriers, developing evidence based
implementation plans, designing and conducting process evaluations and measurement of implementation processes. In her current role, Femke is involved in several health promotion projects in different settings, such as in the neighbourhood, the workplace, football clubs and in the hospital. She co founded the ‘Implementation, Translation, Scale up and Sustainability’ special interest group of the ISBNPA society, co initiated the Netherlands
Implementation Collaborative, and leads an implementation training network in the field of Sport & Physical Activity.
