Sincere congratulations to PAfH (Physical Activity for Health) PhD candidate, HRI Member and HRI Hub deputy Chair, Aidan Buffey on his PhD work which has been featured in the New York Times!
Originally published in the Sports Medicine Journal, Aidan speaks about findings from his recent systematic review and meta-analysis on the acute effects of interrupting prolonged sitting with standing and light-intensity walking, on biomarkers of cardiometabolic health.
Aidan is supervised by HRI Director Professor Alan Donnelly and HRI Member Dr Brian Carson. HRI Member Dr Matthew Herring from PESS (Physical Education and Sport Sciences) is also co-author of the paper and made a substantial contribution to the meta-analysis.
