The Health Research Institute would like to express our excitement and well wishes to the team The Health Research Institute would like to express our excitement and well wishes to the team at CIRcUL - Centre for Implementation Research at the University of Limerick and share some of our photos from the launch event. The launch event, held at UL’s Plassey House, was graced by the presence of the Mayor of Limerick, John Moran, highlighting the significance of this initiative for the local community and beyond.
The Centre for Implementation Research at UL (CIRcUL) is a cross-disciplinary centre dedicated to developing, supporting, and enhancing the implementation of evidence-based research, policies, programmes, and professional practices into routine practice for the effective delivery of public services, with a particular focus on the most vulnerable members of society.
Dr Laura Keyes, School of Law, is the Director of the multidisciplinary CIRcUL and leads a team dedicated to supporting implementation methodologies to improve the traction of evidence-based policy, programme and professional practices in routine public service delivery. CIRcUL is committed to generating cutting-edge insights that not only inform policy but also ensure its effective application, translating research findings into tangible improvements in the real world. By working closely with policymakers, practitioners, and other stakeholders, the Centre aims to enhance the capacity for delivering impactful and sustainable outcomes at local, national, and international levels.
CIRcUL has evolved from the former Health Implementation Science and Technology (HIST) Research Cluster, led by HRI member, Professor Alice Coffey, Department of Nursing & Midwifery, and the Policy Programmes and Practice (REPPP) Unit, led by Professor Seán Redmond, School of Law. The launch of CIRcUL marks the beginning of a new chapter, a multidisciplinary one, in which the Centre will explore the challenges of policy implementation, develop innovative solutions, and contribute to a more equitable and effective use of research to address complex societal needs.
The Health Research Institute (HRI) is delighted to support CIRcUL. This centre represents one of our underpinning areas of excellence. We are excited to see the positive impact CIRcUL will have on public service delivery and the broader field of implementation science. The HRI looks forward to future collaborations as we work together to make a meaningful difference with this groundbreaking research centre.
Well done to everyone involved in the launch event. See some of the HRI team enjoying the event organised wonderfully by Denia Claudino.
