The University of Limerick’s Health Research Institute (HRI) has achieved a remarkable milestone with two members named on the Highly Cited Researchers list for 2024.
On behalf of the Health Research Institute, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to both on being named among the world’s most highly cited researchers. This is an extraordinary recognition of their impactful contributions to research and a testament to the global reach of their work. Each researcher selected has authored multiple Highly Cited Papers, which rank in the top 1% by citations for their field and publication year over the past decade.
The two HRI Members are:
- Professor Daniel Granato, Department of Biological Sciences
- Professor Maurice N Collins, School of Engineering

Their dedication to advancing research aligns closely with our mission to foster innovation and improve health outcomes through world-class research. This recognition further highlights the significance of their contributions and underscores the importance of the work being done at HRI.

The evaluation and selection process draws on data from the Web of Science Core Collection citation index, together with qualitative analysis by experts at the Institute for Scientific Information at Clarivate.
