UL Library awarded National Open Research Forum funding
As part of the 2023 NORF funding, UL library has been awarded €198,000 to develop an Irish National Research Data Management Framework
The project, iFrame, will be led by the Library’s Research Data Manager, Armin Straube.
The project will develop a national Research Data Management framework that will explore and develop agreed best practices for service provision and policies both at institutional and national level. Ireland's National Action Plan for Open Research identifies a national research data management framework as a key tool to help Research Performing Organisations (RPOs) develop and improve their institutional Research Data Management (RDM) approaches and policies. The project will assess the state of RDM provision in individual RPOs, aggregate a national report, and facilitate consensus building on national policies that are closely aligned with international best practices.
The project aligns with UL’s research strategy “Wisdom for Action” in helping to develop a research infrastructure and enhancing our research supports for Open Science and in particular Research Data Management
