Welcome to an overview of simulation projects within the School of Nursing and Midwifery. Two simulation projects, led by the Senior Clinical Skills Coordinator, with teams comprising collaboration among academics, clinical partners and undergraduate students were funded by the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education through the Strategic Alignment of Teaching and Learning Enhancement Funding in Higher Education (SATLE) funding awards.
The first project titled Simulation in Nursing and Midwifery (SiNM) focused on incorporating and formalising simulation pedagogy into undergraduate nursing and midwifery curricula at University of Limerick (SATLE 2019).
The second project titled Sustaining Simulation in Nursing and Midwifery (SSiNM) focused on sustainability and effectively maintaining and building on successful elements of the first project and building further capacity in simulation pedagogy within the department (SATLE 2021).
