The 20th international conference in Irish-German Studies takes place from 16 to 17 November. It is the third UL-UU conference, organised together with Prof Paul Carmichael (Ulster University) and in close cooperation with the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung and the Martens Centre Brussels. We are greatly looking forward to two days of talks, discussions and readings with over thirty contributors, including: former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern who will be in conversation with Deaglán de Bréadún on key anniversaries; writers Hugo Hamilton and Donal Ryan; film maker Neasa Ní Chianáin; Prof Helen Phelan, IWAMD; as well as the Irish ambassador to Germany H.E. Dr Nicholas O’Brien and the German ambassador to Ireland H.E. Cord Meier-Klodt.
